Functional skills and literacy skills are necessary in all job sectors and job roles. Upgrading empowers individuals by enhancing independence and fostering self sufficiency at work, home and in the community. In addition to the services described above, the Essential Skills Project was offered from March 2010 to February 2010. To learn more about the power of this programming and the impacts it had on individual lives please read Bob's Story, Sally's Story, Edith's Story and Karen's Story to get their perspectives on how the Essential Skills program helped them.
