Giving & Volunteering

MSC is tremendously grateful for the VOLUNTEERS & DONORS who support the organization. Both opportunities are wonderful ways to invest in your community.

We believe good works begin at home! In the picture at right, members of the MSC Social Committee present a donation of goods to the Salvation Army in December,  2009. This team has also represented MSC in the Tillsonburg Relay for Life many times and has hosted a number of "Sundae Bars" and other fundraisers in The Livingston Centre. Sundae sale proceeds have supported our local Kiwanis Club and Staples who supply needy students with back packs and school supplies as part of their "Back to School" program. Members of the 2012 Social Committe are: Cara Elsbrie, Alisha Peters, Michelle Hesch, Linda Demarest, Melissa Coucke, Julie Knelsen, Mary Lou Long and Chris Yancy. Check WHAT'S HAPPENING for the many events this group plans on a regular basis. This team is creating a cookbook - for fun and for funds! Should you have recipes to offer, or wish to purchase the cookbook when finished, please call 519-842-9000 and ask to speak to a Social Committee member.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

In 2010/11, 172 MSC volunteers provided 9,173 hours of service to the Tillsonburg community!

We are especially proud of our 2011 Ontario Volunteer Service Award recipients: Board members Fran Bell and Helen Lamos-Parker; tutor Carol Blain; Meals on Wheels volunteers Janet Way (representing the RBC corporate team) and Rosemary DeCoene (representing the Wood/Realty corporate team) as well as fundraiser Margaret McCrimmon. This group has volunteered 43 years of service to the MSC and join a group of 34 other MSC volunteers who have received this award. They are a credit to their community. MSC Volunteer Recognition occurred on May 31, 2011 - see the MSC Facebook page for photos and stories.

Volunteers are an important part of MSC service delivery -  Meals on Wheels, Transportation and Adult Literacy & Essential Skills programming would not be possible without the service of dedicated volunteers. Opportunities also exist in the areas of Fundraising, Board of Directors and committee/fundraising work.

DONATING TO MSC
